- Welcome to Scaremation -
Projected animation displays have become very popular in recent years for home haunts, and there's plenty of reasons why! For one thing, they can provide motion and energy to your haunt, without the need for expensive animatronic devices (...although those are great too!). As well, they can come with their own sync sound and music, so they are a great self-contained package. Although they can be expansive and detailed, they physically only take a small amount of space (...usually your front window), leaving your yard open for all your physical props and haunters.
An added bonus, is they can be easily updated each year, or combined with other animations in a video playlist, so you can build up a library of your favorites, and arrange their play order as you like!
Best of all (to all those unfortunate enough to be asigned to cleanup duty at the end of the night), taking everything down is a snap... and since it's often indoors, you can just shut off the power, and leave it for the morning!
Projected animation is a great way to inexpensively and easily add movement and sound to your haunt, and is a great compliment to physical props and structures. They allow things that even expensive physical props can't easily accomplish, like characters wandering around freely, and elaborate and changing environments. They allow for startle scares, music, and ambient sounds. Projections and physical props can be combined together, to give you such effects as talking/singing (real) pumpkins or figures.

We've been using our own homemade projection animations at our haunts over the last few years, and the visitors love it! Many stick around and watch for what happens next. This year, we are finally opening our doors, and offering our work to the public, and are very interested in hearing your thoughts and requests, as we will definitely consider them and there's a good chance you'll see your ideas available in later years! So, please, let us know what you would love to see! These animations are for you! In the meantime, we will be producing what we feel the public may be interested in, along with ideas we have come up with.
So, if you're new to projection animations, or are looking for new animations for your haunt, we invite you to browse our site. More animations will follow, as we build up a library of our work. Let us know if you have any questions, suggestions or comments/ We'd love to hear from you!
